Chapter 53 of the book of Isaiah

Who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.

4 Surely he took up our pain
   and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
   stricken by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
   he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
   each of us has turned to our own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
   the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
   yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away.
Yet who of his generation protested?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people he was punished.
9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth.

10 Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
and though the LORD makes his life an offering for sin,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.
11 After he has suffered,
   he will see the light of life and be satisfied;
by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,
and he will bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,
and he will divide the spoils with the strong,
because he poured out his life unto death,
and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors.

My personal summery: (great for first time believers!!)
The Prophet Isaiah is talking about how Jesus had to die, because a sacrifice is needed for our sin. So Jesus said that He would come to earth, be perfect in all ways, and then die as a sacrifice so we wouldn't have to ever suffer for our sin. He took our punishment as His. So then, if we want to go to Heaven, we pray something like:"In the name of Jesus, I ask God to come into my life. Through His Blood, and His Death, I am made Whole and right with God."

Love in the Bible.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 8:37-39  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

1 John 3:1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

Love One Another

Romans 13:8 Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Galatians 5:13  For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Ephesians 4:2 With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,

1 Peter 1:22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,

1 John 4:7  Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.

Jesus speaks over LOVE.

Matthew 5:43-48  You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,  so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.  For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?  You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Mark 12:28-30 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

John 14:21-24 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”  Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” Jesus answered him,  “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me.

John 15:9-17 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.  If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another.

(Romantic) Love

Song of Solomon 8:6-7 Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the LORD. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man offered for love all the wealth of his house, he would be utterly despised.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.  Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

Ephesians 4:2-3 With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Philippians 2:2 Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.

Proverbs / Psalms

Psalm 23:5-6 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Psalm 31:16 Make your face shine on your servant;  save me in your steadfast love!

Psalm 63:3 Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.

Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.

Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

You are Beautiful.

You are beautiful.

Wanna know why? Because God made you. He crafted every aspect of who you are, and gave you your special ‘quirks’ so you could find your way to who you’ll become. Boy, girl, man or woman, He made you beautiful. The dirtiness and distaste you harbor against yourself is not what He intended for you. He never wanted you to be hurt or abused, He didn’t give you a heart only for it to be broken. He never wanted for any of humanity to know pain. That’s why we’re got Jesus. He, God Himself, the most beautiful and perfect Being ever, died in the form of a man, so His Beauty might become ours. So when the world calls you ugly. And your sins stain you - Remember that He Made YOU to be Beautiful, and He can make you beautiful.

Not only in His Eyes, but in your One’s as well. The beauty of your spirit, when you seek Him, will shine forth and everyone will take notice. Their eyes might not bulge out of their heads, but they notice. They notice your true beauty in a way that Honors both you and God. You’re ‘One’ won’t see you as beautiful because of what you appear to be. Or for what you try to become. He/She will see your real Beauty. The Beauty only God can give.

Things that might not be at all beautiful to you, things that remind you of instances in your past, can become beautiful too. There is nothing too ‘dirty’ that His Love and Mercy can’t clean and make anew.

Girls, no matter how many pieces of yourselves you’ve given away or had taken from you throughout your life, He can make you whole and pure again in Spirit, and make your Beauty that of one without scars.

Guys, no matter what you’ve gone through, or what someone did to you - the temptations, the uncertainties and wayward actions- whatever it might be – God Alone can fulfill in you the desires of your heart.

First with His Love, and then with the Love of the One He has made for you.We are called to seek God first, seek our comfort and love in Him, and when we do, He will shower us with this beauty, with this light and Love. And, in time, He will provide us someone here on earth to remind us everyday of how Beautiful we are in God’s eyes and their own.“Seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you. …”

You are never ‘spoiled’. You are beautiful. I will say it again, He is beautiful. You are beautiful.

James 1:12-17 James 2:14-26

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
16 Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

Faith and Deeds
James 2.
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”

Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless[d]21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,”[e] and he was called God’s friend. 24 You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.

25 In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? 26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

CUT.

There is healing in the shedding of blood. In our spirits we know this. But, Satan has a way of twisting even the purest of concepts. There is true redemption in the letting of blood, of that there is no denying. But it isn't your blood that holds this life saving power. It's HIS. He gave His Life - He shed HIS blood, for US, so we don't have to shed ours. Over two thousand years ago, He took away the need for ALL sacrifice of the flesh. So to think that cutting, burning, hurting yourself in any way, is somehow relieving the pain of this world – it isn’t. It’s masking it. Only in HIS BLOOD – in HIS POWER AND HIS LIFE and RISENMENT, can we find the escape and purpose we seek.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

We aren’t their Judge…

We can focus on everything that is faulted, we can complain about his/her lack of ____, about how our fathers don't cherish us or understand, our mothers don't tend to us, our siblings seemingly don't care about us, our bosses take us for granted, our co-workers seek to undermine us, our spouses treat the relationship like it is a room-mates with benefits or a business contract. We can blame the government (even if they're at fault, what's your accusation gonna do about it?), we can blame our childhood. We can even blame God.
But the reality is that everything and everyone are faulted. We live in a fallen world. Yes, we expect a lot from those in charge, we expect even more from the ones we love. Yet in doing so, WE are setting ourselves up for disappointment and unfulfillment. We hold others to standards that even they don't plan on reaching. And when they fail in our eyes, we disgust them, we hate them, we shun them, claiming it was their fault alone for this betrayal.
And yes, they are held responsible for their actions, but not to us.
God is the one who is their judge. God is their counselor, their teacher, their guide, and their corrector. We can't take on those roles. We can't expect someone to be perfect, or ideal. We have to recognize the fact that we aren't ever going to reach everyone's standards, and neither are they. We are only meant to have ourselves within God's right sight. And keep our eyes on Him. He'll take care of _______ and their issues.

Let Go

Let Go…

Do you have any unforgiveness
That you can’t seem to let go?

Is your life full of bitterness That’s stopping up the flow?

Of the blessings, truth and mercy God’s trying to get through?

If you cannot forgive others Then He cannot forgive you

You’re living your life without Him, Selfish and all alone

As though “you” were all that mattered, And in your heart He’s found no Home

He’s called your name before. I’m sure you’ve heard Him once or twice

But His Voice was drowned by your anger In a heart that was as cold as ice

He wonders how you could doubt Him And the love He has for You

He’s sent His Word to help you And His Spirit to see you through

The trials and disappointments That you have faced on your own

Were never intended for you To go through all alone

That’s a choice that You made When you stopped up the flow

With the anger and unforgiveness…He now wants you to “LET GO”

“For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.”

Matthew 6:14-15
